- Abstract
The author discusses the theory of world systems and the revisions that come with further research. He mentions the work of sociologist Janet Abu-Lughod on world systems, a world system based on a circuit in the 8th century based on records from the Korean Buddhist monk Hye-ch'o goring from China to India, and a second one in the Islamic Empire of the 10th century outlined by the geographer al-Muqaddasi .
