- Abstract
The article offers the authors' insights regarding the study conducted by S.-R. Tzeng and C. G. Kalomidos on the role of dynamics in catabolite activator protein (CAP) using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. They say that the authors have observed little correlation between the affinity of protein for its target DNA and the fraction of molecules in the active conformation. They note that some of the mutants have undergone big changes while enthalpy changes drive binding.
