- Abstract
The article documents the political scene that evolved around the semi-private space of a Kathmandu, Nepal tea shop during the reign of the last two Rana Prime Ministers including Padma Shamsher and Mohan Shamsher. It mentions historiography of the early twentieth century Nepal in general, and anti-Rana political activism in particular, has focused on political transformations that happened during the Rana regime. It also mentions discourse of public sphere and opinion formation.
