This article discusses the legal philosophy of human rights scholar David Hollenbach and Catholic social thought on the legal frameworks concerning abortion in the United States. Topics addressed include Hollenbach's principle of intellectual solidarity, the writings of legal philosophers M. Cathleen Kaveny and Susan Stabile, and discussion of law as an teaching, rather than policing, institution.
