- Authors
ÖZER PINARBAŞI, Simge
- Abstract
The article explores the association between the Old Testament myth Babel Tower and a library. Particular focus is given to Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges' fictionalised Babel Library, as well as French philosopher Jacques Derrida's use of the myth in the fields of philosophy, architecture and language. Art depictions of the Babel Tower include an installation by German artist Anselm Kiefer, a book tower by Danish artist Tom Bendtsen, and a spiral tower by German artist Jakob Gautel.
