- Abstract
Objective: This study deals with Online Mediation, which is a new trend in the market referring to conflict mediation platforms entirely online, available to all. The investigation aims to answer questions of high relevance, as if Online Mediation could transform this alternative method of conflict resolution into a market of agreements, moving away from the procedures of traditional mediation, in addition to describing the services offered by the platforms, tracing their weaknesses and successes. Methodology: It is an unprecedented research that adopts the descriptive approach method combined with exploratory. Results: Based on the traditional model of Mediation based on dialogue, the promotion of citizenship and otherness, the platforms do not offer support for the treatment of any type of conflict, especially if they are more averse to family conflicts, which require personal contact based on dialogue, sensitivity and welcoming. The idea of online mediation is perhaps a preview of what the future holds, given the digital expansion, but it still needs to be lapidated to contemplate a more comprehensive population. One possibility would be that the platforms stop offering family mediation, turning to merely property and corporate conflicts and without the formation of personal ties. Contributions: This study brings an innovative theme, which so far is little explored in the academic world. This study was dedicated to detailing the online conflict resolution using alternative solution methods from the digital platforms available Today with the concern of pointing out to the reader the possibilities existing, given the absolute lack of other research on this topic.
