- Title
Breaking bad news: part 2.
- Abstract
The article reports on physician Dion Smyth's review of the Internet for palliative nursing. Smyth is a lecturer-practitioner in cancer and palliative care in the University of Central England, Birmingham. Breaking bad news badly usually means attempting to transfer what a health professional knows--the facts and figures about a diagnosis or treatment--without any acknowledgement of, and communication about, the distress and despair the patient and their family, and often the professional imparting this news, are feeling.
