The author shares the lessons she has learned about food refusal in prisons in the United Kingdom, through first-hand interviews with staff in two men's prisons, and from supporting teams in managing extremely complex cases. Topics include reasons for food refusal in prisons, significance of effective partnership working, and the need for better training and support for prison officers in understanding food refusal.
