- Abstract
The principle of "in-transit change in wave frequency" (ITCWF) presented here is based on a simple experiment with water waves. The principle is exploited in describing wave transmission through a pipe and is suitable for interpreting both Doppler effect and ITCWF effect. We use the wave distribution excitation model to explain the cause of the ITCWF effect. We also point out that the gravitational redshift and the universal redshift can be universally explained by the ITCWF effect.
