- Abstract
The article offers information on Colgate University's Democracy Matters (DM) Institute, a nonpartisan organization of students and teachers working on seventy or more campuses across the U.S. to educate people on the role of private money in politics, and its negative impact on democracy. The Democracy Matters Institute was established by three Colgate University professors and their former students, Adonal Foyle. It highlights the objectives of the organization as well as the factors which contribute to its success. The active DM chapters and the lessons learned by the active members are also enumerated.
