- Abstract
The article reports that employee use of computers and internet service endangers corporate networks, because the employee may unintentionally create a security breach. The article states that by opening email attachments or visiting outside web sites, computer users can import viruses or worms that may harm the information technology (IT) mainframe of a company. The article warns that while corporations are spending large amounts of money on placing defenses from outside predators in their mainframes, they may have been overlooking internal dangers. The article gives suggestions of how to improve internal IT defenses, such as establishing firm policies on computer access.
