Title
Child hunger leading to deterioration in children’s health and education.
Abstract
The article discusses results of survey of 313 health practitioners on the impact of child hunger on children's health. Findings indicated that 65% of practitioners observed worsening health due to hunger and poor nutrition. Key effects included slower weight gain, behavioral changes and mental health issues. Health practitioners are advocating for government-funded Free School Meals for all primary school children to prevent further health deterioration.
