Title
Growing digital skills shortages threaten economic growth.
Abstract
The article argues that stronger efforts must be made to increase the proportion of female students pursuing digital skills, as girls and young women currently accounted for only 17 percent of 16–19-year-olds who had been pursuing these qualifications in 2020, which was down from 23 percent in 2012. EPI said that while students taking the new digital T-levels may secure good levels of digital skills, over a quarter of potential students may not be able to access them.
