- Title
Five-Year Land Resettlement Programme.
- Abstract
The article reports that Namibia has requested economic assistance from France and Germany to fund a six hundred thirty million U.S. dollar land resettlement program to purchase farms from white landowners. The resettlement is intended to redress the racial imbalance in land ownership in the country. Ministry of Lands and Resettlement Deputy minister Isak Katali spoke about the necessity for a different strategy for the program implementation in the wake of the failure of the willing-seller-willing-buyer principle under which white farmers willingly sell their property to the government.
