An interview with Louise Newman, executive officer, Southern Ocean Observing System is presented. Topics discussed include her education which include a double major in zoology with honors at the University of Tasmania, Australia, her job as science officer of PAGES (Past Global Changes), an international initiative that coordinates and promotes past global change research toward improved understanding of past changes in Earth system and her undergraduate training on marine ecosystem.
