- Abstract
The stake of the article is to analyze the institutional consolidation of quality assurance in Romanian higher education as well as the way in which the instruments necessary for assessing quality have evolved in the context of the continuous adaptation to the new conditions created by the institutionalisation process. The theoretical framework is based on the concept of institutional isomorphism, which is used in order to explain the evolution of quality assurance in higher education. Subsequently, I present the most important changes that have been made in the new ARACIS Methodology proposal with the purpose of identifying and analysing the tendencies which occur in higher education institutions' behaviour regarding quality assurance.
