- Abstract
The article presents a case study of the presence of severe fetal ascites. A 38-year old pregnant women delivered a healthy 3.1 kilograms infant in a ceasarian section and the presence of severe ascites, pleural effusion, and a mild pericardial effusion were detected in the sonographic fetal assessment. It states that the most frequent cited cause of ascites is genitourinary anomalies with obstructive uropathy and full review in 4 weeks ie at 34 weeks gestation would help in monitoring ascites.
