- Abstract
This article describes a case study of extensive reddish-brown discolouration following topical application of ferric chloride solution after dermabrasion. The patient presented with redness of the nose. A bunch biopsy from the brownish area showed a band-like fibrosis in the papillary dermis with ferrugination of collagen bundles and numerous siderophages. Treatment with adapalene increased the transepidermal elimination of collagen fibres, thus improving the aesthetic appearance.
