- Abstract
The article discusses French political scholar and historian Alexis de Tocqueville and his thought on administration in the book "L'Ancien régime et la Révolution." It considers whether his thought on administration was influenced by the French Académie des sciences morales et politiques' (Academy of Moral and Political Sciences) competitive examination on monarchic administration proposed by the academy in 1842, during the July Monarchy. Centralization is also mentioned.
