- Abstract
The article focuses on the experiments on the behavior of single diving birds or the Tufted Ducks in the diving tank in the laboratory. The tufted ducks dive more intensively with conspecifics is accepted. Its diving efforts increases when there are more ducks in the dive tank. If diving in groups facilitated prey capture, the ducks are expected to change their diving behavior on the pond with the presence of specifics. The behavior of the ducks diving in the laboratory setting cannot be translated to the wild physiologically. In addition, the birds diving alone in the laboratory will work less intensively than when diving with conspecifics.
