- Abstract
The article focuses on a study concerning ocular graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) which is a frequent complication of allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) that occurs in 40-80 percent of the patients. It mentions Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) as the most common manifestation of ocular GvHD and can lead to severe cases of punctate and filamentary keratitis, that causes invalidating discomfort, irreversible ocular surface damage and visual loss.
