- Title
Springtime Pirouettes and Backstrokes.
- Abstract
The article reports on the development of art auctions in the Spring of 2010. It notes that the season began with the Asia Week series of sales held in New York. The Christie's held its first two auctions for Indian works highlighting works in either 20th or 21st century on March 23. The Sotheby's conducted its joint sale of Indian and Southeast Asian art from 11th-century Khmer stone sculptures to New Delhi and Mumbai styles. Meanwhile, Phillips de Pury & Co. (PdP) introduced its first Brazil, Russian, India and China (BRIC) sale in London, England from April 23-24. These results indicate that the art market has turned into a corner.
