- Abstract
The article focuses on artists from the Girringun Aboriginal Art Centre (GAAC) in Cardwell, Queensland who participated in the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) in 2009. The article discusses the popularity of the artists' ceramic figures and fire-sticks, called Bagu and Jiman, the Girringun Aboriginal Corporation, which represents the interests of the artists' groups and exhibitions by the artists, including one at the Queensland Art Gallery's Gallery of Modern Art.
