- Abstract
The article presents clippings of news on the 1971 earthquake in San Fernando and Sylmar, both in Los Angeles, California. The "Kansas City Jewish Chronicle" reported on February 12, 1971 that the disaster killed more than 50 persons and injured hundreds of others. The "California Jewish Press" announced on March 19, 1971 that the Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Greater Los Angeles is offering counseling for children affected by the disaster. The periodical also reported on the psychological effect of the disaster on children.
