- Abstract
The article discusses the highlights of a field-workshop titled "Closepet Granitoid: Its Geology, Mining and Environment" organized by the Geological Society of India on April 20, 2013. The workshop was held in commemoration of the 95th birth anniversary of geologist B. P. Radhakrishna and was attended by 23 Earth scientists. The attendees addressed a number of geological issues, including the effects of quarrying on soil, water and river systems and greater awareness of the vulture sanctuary.
