- Abstract
The article offers information on the evolution, history, development of the juvenile justice system and juvenile court jurisdiction through the cases of the U.S. Supreme Court. It discuses various statutory mechanisms especially including judicial waiver to transfer youthful offenders to adult court and maintaining consistency with the goals of punishment. It also examines the fundamental differences between children and adults.
