- Abstract
The article explores the need for legislative and judicial action in the U.S. to protect Internet accessibility of individuals with disabilities to social media web sites. Topics discussed include the significance of social media in the everyday life of individuals, the definition of social media, the lack of uniformity in the application of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to non-physical places, and the need for the U.S. Congress to amend the ADA to be applicable to web sites.
