- Abstract
An essay is presented that discusses medieval Jewish thought regarding the origins of the Kabbalah tradition. Topics include the notion that the Kabbalah was given to the biblical figure Moses at Mount Sinai, the notion that the Kabbalah was revealed to the biblical prophet Elijah the Prophet, and the zoharic idea that the Kabbalah tradition was handed down from the biblical character Adam.
