- Abstract
A subpopulation of murine synovial lining cells is shown to express 1a antigens coded for by both I-A and I-E/C loci of the major histocompatibility complex and to be derived from precursors in the bone marrow. This is demonstrated by use of biotinylated mouse monoclonal antibodies bound to frozen sections of tissue from normal and bone-marrow-reconstituted mice that are detected by a sensitive avidin/biotinylated peroxidase complex ('ABC') technique.
