- Abstract
This article focuses on the views of several scholars regarding the book "Annales," by Quintus Ennius. Marcus Tullius Cicero, a writer, in his argument about literature progress has connected the archaic carmina and patronage of Ennius by Fulvius Nobilior, a writer, keeping Annales in his mindframe. Marcus Porcius Cato, a writer, in his book "Origines" said that Ennius had to research some five hundred years of Roman history in the course of writing his epic and to develop a satisfactory technique for creating viable hexameters in Latin.
