- Abstract
The article describes the use of additive manufacturing processes in dental technology, particularly in the production of removable dental prostheses. Various technologies such as rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing are used. Various additive manufacturing technologies such as vat photopolymerization, selective laser melting, and material extrusion are also mentioned. These processes enable the production of partial dentures and auxiliary devices, but require different post-processing steps. Further clinical studies are necessary to confirm the use of these methods for definitive solutions. It is emphasized that the produced workpieces represent individually customized medical devices for each patient and therefore the materials used should be handled with caution.
