- Abstract
In the seventies, the city council of Vitoria-Gasteiz promoted a relocation policy aimed to eradicating the Gypsy slums, built on the outskirts of the city, due to the industrialization boom of the time. In this article is investigated the process of shaping the town of Gao Lacho Drom, through a timeline, where the failures that made this an architectural and urbanistic failure are revealed. On the other hand, the social virtues are manifested as the creation of the Gao Lacho Drom Association, where the social demands of the gypsy people are answered, through a network of educational support and labor reintegration.
