NARF Wins Indian Child Welfare Act Case in Alaska.
- Abstract
The article reports on the dismissed case of nonprofit organization Native American Rights Fund (NARF) concerning the tribal adoption of Kaltag under Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) in Alaska on October 14, 2009. Decisions of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit revealed that the move was not violated the law of exercising jurisdiction because it gives incidental consideration to Tribe's authority. It states that the case was advised for court rehearing en banc.
