- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights regarding the influence of campaign contributions to contracting ,as well as the relationship of the donation of campaign contributions with the receipt of government contracts. The author argues that campaign contributions to politicians can influence the decision making of public managers in awarding government contracts. He cites two cases of contracting which are politically motivated, such as the restoration of the Iraqi oil infrastructure which is awarded to Halliburton/Kellogg, Brown, and Root and the Hurricane Katrina Trailer Maintenance and Deactivation awarded to politically active companies. Furthermore, he mentions that companies that are contributing more money receive great number of government contracts.
