- Authors
KAPLAN, ANDREW I.
- Abstract
The article discusses a court case wherein a pregnant woman, who was admitted to the labor and delivery department at a codefendant hospital on August 11, 2013, accused her obstetrician (OB) of not properly repairing the fourth-degree laceration that she incurred during delivery. Topics include a background of the case, the defendant OB's testimony that the patient had a normal-sized perineum that was very swollen from labor, and a description of how the OB closed the patient's perineal tear.
