- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 40-year-old woman with recurrent depression and fibromyalgia which was treated with tryptophan. It states that her family medical history included a brother with bipolar disorder, her mother suffered from fibromyalgia and depression, and her father suffered from depression. It mentions various antidepressants including clomipramine and fluoxetine were either ineffective or induced hypomania. It reports the effectiveness of a low dose of tryptophan.
