- Title
The Impact of an Alcohol Education Program Using Social Norming.
- Abstract
The article reports on research conducted at Virginia Commonwealth University to correct perceptions and reduce alcohol use in first year college students using social norming interventions. Researchers evaluated the interventions with 314 students. They found that the interventions were partially successful in correcting perceptions of normal drinking behaviors but that the improved perceptions did not lead to a decrease in risky drinking behaviors or an increase in protective behaviors.
