- Title
WHY MAKE MOVIES?: SOME ATIKAMEKW ANSWERS.
- Authors
SÉDILLOT, CATHERINE LAURENT
- Abstract
The article discusses the meaning of the cinematic productions for participants and members of their community to examine the transformations taking place. It refers to the role of Native media in general and the Wapikoni mobile in particular and outlines the meaning of "indigenous media." It indicates how the author recognized and anticipated the film's mediating potential in the course of his interviews at Manawan. It cites a question that the Atikamekw of Manawan are much more able to engage with as of July 2010.
