- Authors
GALON, TAMMY FRADE; MAOZ, ADIA MENDELSON
- Abstract
A literary review of the book "The Sound of Our Steps," by Ronit Matalon is presented. Matalon was born in Israel to Egyptian parents and her autobiographical book depicts the trauma of immigration and oppression faced by her family. Matalon was a major Mizrahi author and her writing conveyed the discrimination that her parents' generation of Mizrahis experienced after the mass emigration of Jews in the 1950's from Middle Eastern countries.
