Dialogue in the Margins.
- Authors
Smith, Cheryl Hogue; Amatea, Nicole Callahan
- Abstract
The article describes two approaches used by two U.S. college writing class teachers in addressing the disconnect between students' thinking and writing. Hogue Smith uses an online anti-plagiarism site where she makes electronic content-based comments in footnotes to drafts submitted by students in her basic English writing class. Nicole Callahan Amatea uses an insert comment feature of a word processor to engage in written dialogue with her in-service English teachers in a Master's program.
