- Authors
Carley, Glenn
- Abstract
The article cites a study on the influence of spiritual narratives in community work by fusing narrative principles with the faith-based perspective of people, structure and resources as a cause for change. The focused of the study is the large school board in the province of Ontario, Canada with 36 parishes and churches and Catholic and non-Catholic social services agencies operating throughout the area. The study concluded that the phenomenon of a common spiritual narrative, which is a story of faith in action, can be restored through a reordering of existing resources and the creation of new structures that build on inherent and existing, and when a driving vision, external to its constituent, is shared by members at the basic, agency and senior leadership levels within region.
