- Abstract
The article discusses a study which investigated the carbohydrate-binding module of an esterase gene from Neisseria sicca SB that was cloned. It explains that CaeA is composed of a putative catalytic domain of carbohydrate-binding module (CBM) family 2 and carbohydrate esterase family 1. It states that the study formulated two derivatives, one with CBM of CaeA and one without. It notes that binding assay showed that CaeA's CBA had a cellulose affinity.
