- Abstract
The article discusses the Langat virus (LGTV), a tick-borne flavivirus that shares genetic similarities with tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV). The study focuses on the impact of LGTV on the cellular interleukin (IL)-6 pathway, which plays a role in inflammation and immune cell activation. The authors found that LGTV inhibits the gp130/JAK/STAT signaling pathway by downregulating gp130 protein expression. This finding provides a potential target for therapeutic development against TBEV infection and its associated complications. Further research is needed to fully understand the correlation between TBEV and LGTV infections and the contribution of IL-6 inhibition to immune responses.
