An essay is presented that focus on Ode 3.20 and its schoolroom commentaries on the Odes of Horace. The author explores the educational context of the eleventh and twelfth centuries by providing a short overview of the commentary tradition on Horace. She also examines the sexual content and homoerotic desire of the Odes of Roman poet Horace.
