- Abstract
Kurdish language is spoken in Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Armenia and Azerbaijan as well as in Central Asia. The entire region where the Kurdish language is spoken is called "Kurdistan". Kurdish belongs to the "Central Iranian" group of the "Indo-Iranian" branch of the "Indo-European" family. The division of the Kurdistan region and the rule of separate governments over the region divided the Kurdish people and their language. According to the policies of the country's government, there were violent attempts to integrate the Kurdish people into the culture of those countries. This division gave rise to many dialects of the Kurdish language and the differences became so great that these dialects came to be considered separate languages. Kurdish is written in the Arabic script. In this article, we will describe the Kurdish alphabet and the examples of some of the words written with it. This article will help us to understand the different variations of the Arabic script.
