- Abstract
This article focuses on the prediction of leisure time exercise behavior among a group of lower-limb disabled adults. The encouragement of participation in certain physical activities often assists the disabled person to regain and subsequently maintain a measure of autonomy. Less is known about the psycho-social variables that influence leisure time exercise behavior in this special population. This latter information is crucial because an understanding of variables involved in the decision-making process would guide the development of efficient health and physical activity programs. Fishbein's model was used to study some predisposing factors, such as beliefs, attitudes, societal norms, and intention toward exercise.
