The article predicts the emergence of a consensus regarding the frequency and precise magnitude and spectrum of cancer risks for individuals carrying mutations of BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. A study which analyzed DNA samples for BRCA mutations is discussed. Among the most provocative findings of the study is the very high frequency of BRCA mutations estimated in a population.
