- Abstract
As the popularity of women's football increases, so does the professional approach, and female footballers at various levels may be exposed to higher training and competition load than before, which may have consequences for their performance and health. The goal of our work was to determine the occurrence of muscular imbalance in female football players as part of the preliminary research for the dissertation thesis. The research group consisted of 13 female football players from the club FK Poprad. The diagnosis of football players took place in the March 2023. As the main method for obtaining data, we used tests for the evaluation of functional muscle disorders originally by Dr. Jandu (1982). For the needs of our research, we used a modified version of the tests by authors Labudová, Thurzová (1992). We examined 11 shortened muscles, 5 weakened muscles and 7 tests to investigate basic movement stereotypes. Due to the low number of the research group, we used the median (x~) as a measure of central tendency and the quartile deviation (QD) as a measure of variability as basic descriptive parameters. We plotted the measured values using a graph, for which we used the Microsoft Office Excel program. Based on our results, we can conclude that female football players have an increased rate of shortened muscles of the lower limbs, which demonstrates the increased need for compensation of the shortened muscles of the lower limbs in female football players in the training process.
