Reports on the claim of the House of Lords that it was lawful for the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority to give a license for tissue-typing an embryo in Great Britain. Appeal of the representatives of the Comment on Reproductive Ethics about the case of couple Raj and Shahana Hashmi who were granted with a license permitting preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and tissue-typing as part of their in vitro fertilization treatment; Decision of the Court of Appeal to the case; Claim of the House of Lords that the case presented a justifiable use of PGD.
