Title
A Hormone That May Suppress Appetite and Bone Formation in AN.
Abstract
The article discusses a study conducted by physician Anne Klibanski, along with her colleagues at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Massachusetts, on the effect of the decreased food intake in patients with anorexia nervosa. Patients may be affected by suppression of hypothalamic appetite signals from the brain such as peptide YY (PYY), and bone formation. PYY arises from the intestines and works via the Y2 receptor.
